Occupational Health Partnerships
Workplaces have a major impact on Minnesotans health. The Center for Occupational Health and Safety works with national and state organizations dedicated to worker health and industry leaders. These partnerships help guide MDH work to focus and support the areas with greatest needs.
We know we can’t create safe work environments alone. Each partner provides unique perspectives and expertise that help improve and direct efforts to support the health of Minnesota workers.
State advisory group
A Minnesota occupational health advisory group meets twice a year to discuss occupational health issues. Members are from a number of backgrounds and industries including health care, public health, the University of Minnesota, and government agencies. The advisory group helps the Center for Occupational Health and Safety understand and prioritize what information and resources are needed in Minnesota, and the Center for Occupational Health and Safety shares vital information to help leaders find pathways to reduce illnesses and injuries in Minnesota workers.

Workgroups
Occupational health workgroups help educate, align, and collaborate on issues related to specific industries.
Cosmetology Workgroup
The Salon Safety Workgroup focuses on creating safe work environments for those in salons. The group meets to share what they are working on, find ways to support each other’s efforts, and share information and best practices regarding worker safety.
Farm Safety Working Group
The Farm Safety Working Group is led by the Department of Agriculture. This workgroup focuses on reducing injuries and illnesses in farmers and agricultural communities. The MDH Center for Occupational Health and Safety serves on this workgroup to provide information and data on farm safety for workers.
