County level overdose death data tables
The tables below include the numbers for 2024.
These tables have information about Minnesota residents who died from drug overdose between 2015 and 2024. They list the number of deaths by year, resident county, and the type of drug involved. This drug overdose death data is useful for understanding and helping improve the drug overdose crisis response in Minnesota. Local public health agencies, county organizations, and community partners can use this information to distribute funds, materials, and create specific plans to address drug overdose impacts in their communities.
Beginning in 2023, resident deaths that occurred out-of-state are no longer included, due to this change trendlines are not a recommended use for these data. If you have further questions, contact MDH using the email health.drugodepi@state.mn.us.
