In 2024, the Minnesota Legislature passed a law (Minnesota Statutes, chapter 151.212) requiring all pharmacies to make accessible prescription drug labels—including large print or Braille labels—available at no additional cost by January 1, 2026. Until then, pharmacies that cannot yet provide an accessible label must direct patients to the MDH list of pharmacies that currently offer them.
The Legislature also directed the Minnesota Department of Health (MDH) to assess the cost and options for providing audible prescription drug labels (Minnesota Laws of 2024, chapter 127, article 60, section 24).

MDH sent its Assessment of Audible Prescription Drug Labels (PDF) to the Minnesota Legislature on 4/01/25. The assessment includes results from MDH's survey of outpatient pharmacies, cost estimates for accessible label adoption, and recommendations to the Legislature.
Pharmacies with Accessible Labels
MDH conducted a survey of all pharmacies to identify their current capacity to provide accessible prescription drug container labels. The list below was compiled from survey responses and was updated quarterly throughout 2025. The final list reflects pharmacies that—as of October 2025—reported having the capacity to provide accessible prescription drug container labels.
This list is current as of October 2025 and will not be updated going forward. It will be removed in early 2026.
