February 2026 grantee spotlight: Hennepin County

Hennepin County was honored at the Parents as Teachers Concerence in October 2025
Hennepin County was recently recognized at the Parents as Teachers International Conference held in San Juan, Puerto Rico. The recognition was for the recent Blue Ribbon certification that was awarded to our Parents as Teachers family home visiting program. Blue Ribbon affiliates are recognized as exemplary affiliates, delivering high-quality services to children and families.
Hennepin County Public Health, Greater Minneapolis Crisis Nursery, and St. David’s staff attended the award ceremony on behalf of the entire family home visiting team. At the conference, they had the opportunity to learn more about early childhood by attending workshops, and networking with family home visiting professionals from across the country. Everyone at the conference shared the same passion to serve the community and understand the importance of supporting the long-term wellbeing of children from birth to 5 years of age and their caregivers.
Reflecting on this professional development experience, their takeaways were on the importance of continuing to partner with and empower caregivers to connect about their child’s early development. Hennepin County is truly enriched by the high level of service and excellent programming being provided to families.
