Facilitation

Our facilitation work includes consulting with the requestor to develop an agenda, facilitating the meeting to ensure team members can fully participate, and taking notes to be sent back to the requestor as documentation of the meeting. Facilitation can be for small or large groups. Goals often include supporting strategic conversations, identifying important questions, building shared understanding, appreciating various perspectives, and supporting planning and/or implementation processes for health equity or community engagement work.

Topics may include:

  • Equity-driven planning, such as strategic planning around health equity topics or programmatic planning that infuses health equity goals
  • How to use and apply and equity lens in your work, such as policy review with an equity lens
  • Preparing for an equity assessment
  • Community engagement planning, including sustainable ways to consult and co-power with communities

Resource support

Network coordinators and other staff can work with partners to connect with people in their region, with other MDH staff, and with other community resources (including introductions to community organizations, lists of consultants, online resources, and readings and case studies) as needed and depending on the request. The goal of our resource support is to increase access to equity resources. Note that we cannot make referrals or recommendations for specific consultants.
