COVID SHIP:
Health Resources and Services Administration's Federal Office of Rural Health Policy received funding through the Coronavirus Aid, Relief, and Economic Security (CARES) Act. HRSA distributed CARES funding to assist hospitals that are eligible under the Small Rural Hospital Improvement Program. This grant supports to hospitals to prevent, prepare for, and respond to the coronavirus–related (COVID–19) public health emergency. This includes:
- Safety: Ensuring hospitals are safe for staff and patients
- Response: Detecting, preventing, diagnosing and treating COVID–19
- Maintaining operations: supporting staff salaries, providing paid leave and ensuring continuity of services
Participating hospitals must submit quarterly reports to HRSA, through ORHPC, documenting their use of funds according to the schedule below:
